As you are the kind of the keyword expert to ask here ;): What type of strategy you have used to implement keywords in your product titel and backend? I guess stuffing (secondary) keywords in the title is a bad strategy? How many keywords MAX would you recommend for the backend? Or is there no limit?

I'm sure you're probably familiar with all of those little sites that let you trade things in and get cash and/or gift cards in return. Stuff like your old cell phones, laptops, etc. Well, Amazon actually has something similar with a very long list of things you can trade in, including cell phones, laptops, cameras, books, textbooks, music, mp3 players, and much more.

I know 30% of my earnings came from products people bought because I happened to be the one that sent them onto Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more. For example, I sold a watch a while ago for $5,000 and got a $400 commission but I don’t even own a website that even remotely discusses watches. This is one of the other reasons why I love using Amazon’s affiliate program.

Although I am an “uber-experienced newbie” in the Internet Marketing world, I was an Amazon-phobic, having been only familiar (and seen some success) with ClickBank products, not venturing into anything outside CB. This new vertical was touted as an alternative to Etsy. As a seller, Amazon allows you to sell your handmade wares on the site. In some instances, you can even have them listed as Prime and FBA items. The reviews on Handmade are mixed. Apparently “handmade” items don’t need to meet the stringent requirements of Etsy. There also isn’t the one-on-one customer support aspect that comes with Etsy. Amazon is largely a mass retailer connecting individual buyers and sellers that may never cross paths again. That isn’t going away with Handmade.
In the summer of 2014, I came across a few blog posts and podcast episodes focused on the topic of selling private label products through Amazon’s FBA program. I was aware of the possibility to sell private label products, and I was aware that third-party sellers could sell their products on Amazon, but I had never thought about the power that exists when these two are combined.

My biggest frustration is how to drive my target to my site and links. I have to do YouTube videos as part of what I told the publisher I would do. I have cards in my YouTube videos to try to steer the traffic to my site where they can look at the offerings in a very organized fashion (which really is one of two places on the web that provide this for this publisher). I just want to work smarter instead of harder. I have had so many people thank me for the videos but it is not converting through the affiliate links. I can’t stop the YouTube videos because it is part of the agreement. Also posting the reviews on Amazon.com in the product reviews. I don’t think I can add a link to my site in product reviews.


As with the other third-party tracking services, this one doesn’t track price history, but shows you some other stores/competitors and their pricing. It will tell you if the best deal is at Amazon and give you the option to look at the other stores. Based on looking for a Mohu Leaf 50, I found that Amazon is not the cheapest around. I can get it for $10 less at Home Depot. That being said, sometimes it can’t find an exact match for the product, so it tries to bring relevant matches. This example was close, but the Walmart listing was off.

I'm a big fan of the new Amazon Influencers program. You don't need a blog or website for this affiliate opportunity, only an engaged following on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and or Instagram. Once approved, you will be provided with a virtual storefront in which you can add your favorite products from Amazon. Then, you can easily share your Influencer Page on social media with your new vanity URL. (Ex. Mine is https://www.amazon.com/shop/angienelson.) You can then earn commission on qualified product sales once someone clicks visits your store.
I’m curious – how are Amazon affiliate sites faring after the Google Panda update. With the keyword density of the content articles needed for these types of sites, have you or any of your Niche Profits members experienced a major decline in traffic or rankings? If so, what are your recommendations for creating better backlinks and showing more authority/relevancy for these types of sites?
